About the Author

Oh hey! Well, my name is Justin, I’m 23, and I was raised in Conway, Arkansas surrounded by cows, trees, and farmland. After high school I went to college in Atchison, Kansas (near Kansas City) at Benedictine College and graduated in May, 2009 with a B.A. in communications and history. Sometime before my last semester there I took a break from the books and booze and began to ponder my future. I knew that I felt called to service, wanted to learn a second language, and yearned for some alternative to life’s traditional cycle of college begets career begets boredom begets mid-life crisis wondering why I never did anything adventurous. So here I am doing something I actually want to do, and that is serving my country and giving back a little of what I have taken for granted.
